★ Dreamland of Royalty ★

In the vast universe of silent dreams
It called to me, a faint beam
It was a shard of crystal light
I peeked and saw a thrilling sight.

The chandelier in its magnificent shine
The elegant ballroom in which thousands dine
The broad staircase in brilliant glory
The sparkling floors reflecting their story.

The princess runs in this personal palace
Challenging her fairy friends to a race
In her gorgeous layers of lace and frills
Or a printed dress of little daffodils.

The princess is the ruler of this world
In pretty gowns, as she is told
Passing the days enjoying her tea
Eating macarons, cakes, and ice cream topped with a cherry.

She loved the lifestyle of royalty
She would chase after daddy and hug him tightly
Thanking him for the wonderful treats
The king solemnly listened to the repeats

Then many things happened
The castle disappeared
And soon she grew out of the dress with patterns
The regal life was left forgotten.

Abruptly I look up from the light
The realization within roused my fright
The reason of my lolita love
It brought me back to my memories' treasure trove.
